Dear Valued Best Software Business Partner:
A world
of mid-market opportunity beckons. The new and improved Best
Software is now open for business.
Last fall, at our first corporate media event, I announced
that we were embarking on an ambitious journey to help our
business continue to grow in the face of increasing competition
in our core market. This journey was intended to build and
improve the company to better serve all of our most valuable
assets: customers, employees and you, our business partners.
From acquiring
new customers to consistently achieving strong financial results,
our seven-point strategy was designed to enable us to maintain
our current market focus while leveraging our collective knowledge
and resources to present "One Face" to the marketplace
and deliver on the promise of the "Power of One."
The next
step in our journey is to align our organization to this new
strategy. In short, to move to a simpler, more streamlined
organizational structure that leverages the market-proven
lessons learned by our businesses in the past to take us forward
successfully into the future. The changes I am announcing
today are the next step towards our vision and mission to
become a great company.
Our new
structure, organized by market, customer size, and distribution
channel, is now reduced from six to two divisions comprising
multiple business units, as follows:
The new Small Business Division, led by Doug Meyer
as President, will include the following business units and
will be led by the General Managers below:
- Accounting
Solutions (Peachtree, DacEasy and Timeslips) - Connie Certusi
- Contact
Management Solutions (ACT!) - Greg Head
In the
new Mid Market Division I will serve as President in
order to insure we quickly bring these businesses together
to serve our customers and partners more effectively.
In this
new division Jim Foster will lead the business units, which
will include Product Marketing, Product Management, and Development
as well as Sales Execution. These business units and respective
General Managers are:
- Accounting
Solutions (MAS 90/500, PFW, BW) - Craig McCollum
- NonProfit
Solutions (MIP, KTS, JSI) - Kent Hollrah
- CRM
Solutions (SalesLogix) - Jim Foster
- Specialized
Business Solutions (FAS, Abra, - Himanshu Palsule
Carpe Diem, CPASoftware, BSAN, Timesheets)
In addition,
we will be bringing our Customer and Channel Operations together
under David Butler. This team will deliver world-class customer
and channel support, and will bring together our channel programs,
and partner development tools to provide each of you a consistent
opportunity across all of our products. Our goal is to provide
a single relationship with Best Software that you can leverage
across as many products as fit your business needs.
Why now,
you may ask. Quite simply, because it makes good business
sense, as it will allow us to better serve both our customers,
and you our partners.
While
the ability to execute on our strategic goals was paramount
we also sought to create a more nimble, flexible organization
able to quickly adapt to rapidly changing markets. Equally
important, we sought to create even more opportunities for
each of you to grow your business through the opportunity
to sell additional Best Software products. As our customers
needs expand into new areas we want to insure that you can
benefit from this opportunity. That means continued growth
for all!
With this
new focus, we look forward to a promising future as the #1
provider in each and every one of our categories. In order
to achieve this attainable goal, we will continue to work
with you to maintain our relentless focus on the customer.
