New Name – And Continued Focus for AICPA Technologist

Need Technology skills with a solid dose of accounting or assurance?  The AICPA and members who belong to that focused section are your resources for help.  The AICPA (American Institute of Certified Public Accountants) (www.aicpa.org) recently renamed the IT Section to the Information Management and Technology Assurance section (IMTA) at the October 2012 council meeting.

For a decade plus, the IT section of the AICPA, has been a wonderful blend of technology and accounting knowledge professionals.  Many of the industry’s leaders and thought leaders are active in this community.  The CITP (Certified Information Technology Professional) credential, Top 10 Technology white papers and much more have all sprung from this group.  Most of the leaders in the VAR 100 have core fundamentals rooted with the AICPA and CITP credential.   It is correct to say that this group of professionals are leaders.

Janis Parthun (of the AICPA) explains more on “why the name change” athttp://blog.aicpa.org/2012/12/whats-in-a-name-it-section-renamed-to-imta.html#sthash.BV20RHzX.dpbs

At the end of the day, when you are looking for technology around ERP, CRM, security or assurance – the members of the AICPA and the IMTA section are your go to team for results.
